Yep, this is what you think it is. You know, that drink that everyone keeps talking about. Its warm, its pumpkiny and oh so good.
But wait! I don’t want to go to you know. . . starts with an S and ends in BUCKS! I want to enjoy one made with the attitude of Naked Cafe! Well wait no more, here is an easy recipe to make them in the comfort of your own home.
I found this recipe last year at The Kitchn.
I did not add any sugar to mine since I used a vanilla soy milk, I thought it was sweet enough. Also, don’t buy pumpkin pie filling it is all ready spiced and ends up too spicy.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
makes 1-2 servings
Ingredients:
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons canned pumpkin OR 1 teaspoon of Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup (your choice)
2 tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute – you can halve this amount
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1-2 shots espresso (about 1/4 cup of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine.)
Directions:
In a saucepan combine milk, pumpkin and sugar and cook on medium heat, stirring, until steaming. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and spice, transfer to a blender and process for 15 seconds until foamy. If you don’t have a blender, don’t worry about it – just whisk the mixture really well with a wire whisk.
Pour into a large mug or two mugs. Add the espresso on top.
Top with whipped cream and sprinkle pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, or cinnamon on top. (Just do it!)
Enjoy!

Yum yum yum- what a great alternative to giving money to the evil bucks! Sounds much better too

Thank you so much! I used to live in the Seattle area and could get one of these pretty much anytime I pull out of my driveway., You know, cause there’s an espresso stand on every corner! Now I live in the country in beautiful Tennessee and the closest place to get a coffee is an hour’s drive away, round trip. Not the same convenience – LOL I am making these tomorrow and will thank you everytime I do!!
Glad I could help Jen!
I will definitely be making this. Yummmm.
Oh goodness, my hips don’t need this but … my tummy disagrees! Pumpkin is my current obsession (well, to be honest, it is always an obsession this time of year
). Will be trying this tomorrow along with my pumpkin muffins (see rachellynneauthor.com for recipe) … Pumpkin Overload!
Thanks for the post, (as I grumble on my way to the treadmill)!
I agree Rachel, I can’t seem to get enough pumpkin either! I will have to try those pumpkin muffins.
Update: I blogged about your PSL recipe today (and tweeted) I have managed to make this recipe even better! High Protein diet friendly: now it is my Guilt-free indulgence!
